Getting Started with OMCWEB

Five easy steps to build a website for your business and put it online

What this guide covers

This is the short route from “just signed up” to “website is live”. It tells you what to do, in order, and each step links to a detailed guide. The whole thing takes about 15-20 minutes.

Permissions and plan

  • Every new account is the owner of its own organisation, so you can do everything in this guide
  • Members invited into an organisation later can do whatever their role allows

What to prepare

  • Your business name and a short description
  • At least one contact channel — a phone number, an email address or a LINE ID
  • Your logo and photos (you can start without them and add them at any time)

Step 1 — Get to know the left menu

Everything starts from the menu on the left. The one you will use most is Websites; Overview is the page that tells you what is still outstanding.

The menu is ordered by how you use it — start with “Websites”

You should now see: where to find each part of the system.

Step 2 — Create your first website

Open Websites and press Create website. The wizard asks just three things: your business details, the look you want, then review and create.

The “Create website” button sits in the top right of the websites page

You should now see: a full set of starter pages, and the launch page · the step-by-step detail is in Create a New Website.

Step 3 — See what is still outstanding

The Overview page gives each website its own frame with a readiness bar showing how many steps are done and which are left. The bar reads from real data — it is not a checklist you can tick yourself.

The list on the right shows how many steps are done and which one to do next

You should now see: exactly what is left before the site is ready to publish.

Step 4 — Make the content yours

Open All pages for the website and edit the text and images on each page. The things worth changing before you publish are the home page copy, your contact details, and the photos that came with the template. The detail is in Edit Pages and Sections.

Step 5 — Preview, then publish

The launch page brings the last three jobs together: review the content, preview the real thing, then publish. The site goes live the moment you press the button. The detail is in Preview and Publish.

Things to watch out for

  • A new website is not online until you publish it — nobody else can see it while you work on the content
  • The web address set during creation cannot be changed later — but you can always connect your own domain on top of it
  • Replace the template photos before publishing, especially the team and review blocks

Common problems and fixes

  • No create button — your role in this organisation is not owner or admin. Ask the owner to change your role on the team page
  • The site is created but does not open on my phone — it has not been published yet. See step 5
  • The readiness bar does not move — it reads real data. “Add a logo”, for example, only ticks once a logo actually exists in the website settings
